Why Choose Us

What Sets Us Apart

We have the largest and busiest burn center in Pennsylvania and are one of 44 burn centers nationwide verified by the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons.

At our Regional Burn Center, we see more than 600 adults and children with serious, even life-threatening burns. That’s three times the number of patients the average burn center sees. Inside our newly expanded burn center (opened in January 2008) in the Kasych Family Pavilion at Lehigh Valley Hospital—Cedar Crest, Allentown, Pa., we now have the capability to care for more than 1,000 patients annually.

The most advanced care for burn patients

  • The only burn center in our region with a full-time medical staff
  • 18 private rooms with state-of-the-art infection control and private baths
  • Two treatment rooms with 360-degree access to the patient
  • Families welcome to visit 20 hours a day
  • Comprehensive scar management program
  • Image enhancement center
  • Burn care education
  • Rehabilitation
  • Psychosocial care
  • Burn survivor support services
  • Outpatient Burn Recovery Center that performs many procedures that used to require admission to the burn center
